Meet Our Baker

Hello! I am Joelle, a full time RN who loves to bake! I took a break from baking to raise my family and then picked it up again the summer of 2023, when my niece asked me to cater her vegan wedding. I made a four-tiered vegan cake and 500 cookies. That baking bug has been with me since!
In February 2024, I opened Southport Cookies in our sweet coastal town of Southport, NC.
All of our cookies are both vegan and gluten free. We have a few signature flavors, like my popular original chocolate chip and the snickerdoodle. Our favorite specialty cookies include the S.S. Southport, made with four kinds of chocolate chips, toasted pecans, homemade toffee, pretzels and sea salt; the carrot cake cookie with cream cheese frosting; and the cookies and cream.
Currently, we provide four to six different varieties at a time, but Southport Cookies does sell out of our popular cookies. I love to create and experiment with new cookie ideas.
